I’ll be available to chat more freely tonight (maybe even liveblog the game?), but Derek Lowe pitched fantastically for the first time this year AND the offense was on the same page. It led to a 8-1 Dodgers victory, with Kemp, Kent and Ethier all hitting home runs.
Kemp’s soared into the night sky, it was one of the prettiest home runs I’ve seen. He’s only got four home runs on the year and most of his RBIs have come off of singles or doubles, at least from what I’ve seen. This probably has something to do with a lot of pitchers refusing to pitch him inside. Greg Reynolds’ home run pitch that he handed to Kemp was on the inside part of the plate and somewhere between the letters and the belt.
More coming later.
