I Think We Can Put This to Rest Now: Broxton’s Back

This should say it all:

Broxton's Pitch F/X July 27, 2010

Broxton's Pitch F/X July 27, 2010

Jonathan Broxton returned tonight for 10 pitches. He had one swinging strike, which is fine, but had incredible movement on his fastball, which is the only pitch he threw. 10 vertical inches is basically the pinnacle of movement on the fastball and the -5 horizontal inches is about average for Broxton.

This should put to rest some worries momentarily. It’s great until he faces line-ups with higher walk rates and slash stats. And then (godforbid) blows another save.

I think tomorrow I’ll do a post on how much Hong-Chih Kuo owns.
